87 years ago Jaime was born in Paris, France on Bastille Day, July 14/1935. His mother was Fernande Brossard (French) and his father was Manuel Ocampo (Mexican). When he was 2 years old the family relocated to Mexico where Jaime grew up and spent most of his life. He complied with his French military service as part of the Alpine Brigade. Jaime worked in the Travel Industry for several prominent travel and tourism companies: Wagons-Lits Cook, Maritz Corporation and especially American Express Travel Division where he was Director of Retail Sales. He met his wife, Edith Schreiner, in Mexico City and they were married at St John’s Episcopal Church in New City, NY on December 23, 1973. They lived in Mexico City and because of Jaime’s business, were able to travel throughout Mexico and to many foreign countries as well. In 1998 they relocated to West Nyack, NY in order to care for Edith’s mother and after her passing, they both embarked on new lines of work. Jaime worked for Filene’s/Macy’s at the Palisades Center Mall in the Fragrance Department for 10 years. During his retirement he enjoyed gardening, treasuring his tulips in the spring and his dahlias in the summer. He was a fan of Formula 1 auto racing as well as World Cup soccer.
Jaime was predeceased by his parents and his stepfather Joaquin Cassy, his brother Jorge and his sisters Isabel and France. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edith, and 3 sons from a previous marriage: Omar of France, Edgar of Mexico, and Ivan of France; and also his sister Yvonne and brother Joaquin, both of Mexico. He was highly regarded by all of his colleagues and loved by his family and friends from around the world.
