To Fred’s Family,

Fred worked for my dad in the Bronx and Tappan for many years. My dad always spoke highly of Fred and he trusted him with his business. Fred often filled in when my parents were on vacation, or when my dad was ill. Dad knew his customers were in good hands. 

I was sorry to see that Fred passed away. I was trying to contact him to tell him that my dad passed away on 1/13, one month before Fred. So, it looks like my dad got the news to him before I could. If you’d like to contact me, google me.

Eternal be their memories!

When I read Fred's obituary it seemed so empty. Just the date that he was born and the date that died. I realized that it was up to us to fill in the blanks. For me my relationship with Fred started in 1975 when I was a pharmacy student doing a rotation at Misericordia Hospital. There he became my teacher. Over the years our relationship changed he became my boss, my mentor and my friend. Most importantly my friend. I think that everyone who has ever met Fred came away better for it. As the video shows he loved life and enjoyed living it.  He leaves a wonderful family and many friends.His passing has left a void in in our lives that will be irreplaceable. 

I'm very surprised & saddened to learn of Chip's passing.  Just two years ago February,  Chip & I reconnected on the phone thru my sister-in-law, Thelma--after losing touch for 50 years.   Wow, what a reunion!  So much fun to learn he was still Bursting with Life.  So smart, so many activities, so much of the world he'd seen.  He shared photos, which would surprise no one who knows him, of me at age 19, of his friends & travels, of Jody & Dave, Emma & Alex, and of course Aiden (sorry if I spelled any name wrong); of his  own childhood (I remember a portrait of him in a beanie, very young, which he thought was adorable, & which was, but I remarked that the look on his face was like he wanted to kick somebody in the shins).  He gave so much of himself to me in these last years & I will miss the laughs we had on his late night calls.  Wherever he is I'm thinking he's still shaking things up in a good way.  I hope his family & friends will take comfort in the great store of memories they have of Chip.

My Dear Chip:

It was 1980 when I came to the Pharmacy Department at old Misericordia.  It was one of the best things that ever happened to me in my life.  I never thought that I would find my second family.  You were the best Boss and most of all a friend and one of the most kind and wonderful human beings I have ever met or will ever meet in this lifetime.  You had and always will have a special place in my heart.  I will always cherish all the wonderful memories we shared as a department.  And there were many.  Never to be duplicated again.   You will be missed more than words can say.  Until we meet again.   Always in my heart.   With love and thanks for all the happiness you brought to me and to others.  Lillian

It is hard to believe that over thirty five years has passed since we were first introduced to each other, my dear old friend.  And throughout every one of those years you were always there to help with whatever situation arose in good times and bad. What memories we've shared.  Taking delivery of your new Vulcan and bringing it home in my horse trailer......just because it was five degrees below zero that day.  Booking up the Northway on our way to Americade 1998 and having to take shelter under an overpass as a tornado blew by us (that was scary).  Over all those decades and thousands of miles our friendship became stronger.  Denise and I often reminisce about the many times you came to help out after work when we bought the horse farm in Katonah. I couldn't have done it without you!! 
Fred, my brother, we sure miss you.  May we meet up again at that rest area in the sky. 
God's speed!!!

A wonderful friend who I shared many thumbs up and big smiles with - passing each other on our motorcycles at 60 mph. He inspired so many, that his legacy will live on for years to come. Rest in peace, "you did good".

I know Fred from working at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Fred was one of the pillars that made Phelps such a great place to work. Brilliant problem solver, kind, compassionate and a great sense of humor. His knowledge of pharmaceuticals was endless as he always knew how to guide us in the right direction for our patients. He was a computer whiz with his famous saying. RTDS. (Read the Dam Screen).

Chip (Fred) was one of my bestest ski buddies.  We had so many exciting adventures together.  We saw so much raw nature.  We were blessed with those experiences.  Chip was a wonderful person who lived his life to the fullest.  He will be warmly missed.  My thoughts are with family members and friends.
