Fred Nagel of Monroe, NY; formerly of Congers, NY passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old. Fred was a NYC Firefighter for over 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was born on April 13, 1938 in the Bronx to Mary (Enright) and Fred Nagel. He is survived by his five children; Laura (Peter), Fred Jr. (Dulce), John (Laura), Ann Marie (Ralph) and Erin (Tim). He was adored by his eight grandchildren: RJ, Joseph, Ava, Olivia, Tiffany, Ericka, Nicole and Casey. Fred was predeceased by his wife Anne Marie and his brother Jim. Fred enjoyed traveling to Florida and Atlantic City and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Family will receive friends and loved ones Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in Congers. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10am at St. Pauls Church in Congers. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Rockland Lake.
