Frank Riccio "The big boss" has left this life on earth to be with his beloved wife Rose of 67 years on December 27, 2010 at the age of 92. Frank was a pioneer who immigrated to New Rochelle, NY USA from Guardia Lombardi, Italy at the age of 14 to start a new life. He was born on March 1, 1918 to Antonio and Teresa (Della Badia) Riccio. Frank has been a resident of New City for 38 years and also lived in Boynton Beach, Fl for 21 years. He was the owner of Frank Riccio Landscaping since 1936. In 1972, He established Pine Brook Landscaping and Paving Co. Inc. together with his sonin-law Rocco. Frank was the founding member, as well as the oldest living member, of the Guardia Lombardi Society in Mount Vernon, NY. He was honored as one of the original founders in October of 2008. Frank married the love of his life Rose in 1939 at St. Joseph's Church in New Rochelle, NY. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church, and was also involved with doing charitable work with the Marian Shrine in Garnerville. Frank was an avid hunter and was a member of Hunters Haven Club in Monticello. He also enjoyed playing cards. Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose greatest joy came from his family. Frank is predeceased by his wife Rose in 2007. His loving sons-in-law Don Benz in 2004, and Rocco DiMatteo in 2008: as well as his brothers: Charles, John, Joseph, Nick and two sisters Victoria and Maria Grazia. Frank is survived by his two daughters, Theresa DiMatteo of New City and Lucille Benz of Valhalla, NY, his grandchildren Roxanne Perrone (Frank), Brigida Perciballi (Pierino), Donald Benz (Gina), Robert Benz (Rachel), eight great grandchildren; Alexa and Jordana Perrone, Matteo Perciballi, Brooke, Emily and Dylan Benz, Gianna and Nicholas Benz and his brother Pietro Riccio of New Rochelle. Viewing is Today 4-9pm at the Higgins Funeral Home 321 South Main Street New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday 10am at St. Augustine's Church New City, NY with Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery Hartsdale NY. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Marian Shrine in Frank's name.
