Edward F. Hushon, the man, the myth, the legend, of Nanuet, NY, 87 years old, passed away on March 15th, 2019. He fought the nurses ‘til the end, and died with his boots on. Ed was born on July 1st, 1931 in Elmhurst, Queens to Edward “Ted” Hushon (of Liverpool ) and Agnes (nee Cuthbert of Glasgow). He lived on 153rd street in the Bronx for most of his childhood, attended Immaculate Conception School, and graduated from Commerce High School. He joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, served from 1950-1954, and his last role was in the Air Anti-Submarine Squadron as a parachute rigger. Helen G. Quinn danced her way into his heart, and they were married on January 9, 1954 and settled in Nanuet, NY. Ed and Helen had a daughter and son and were married for 29 years before she passed in 1983. Ed worked for Con Edison for 47 years as an internal auditor. He most enjoyed the Yankees, travelling, dancing, dressing well and looking well *wink*. He had many friends, and spent many years with his sweetheart, Dolores “Dee” Cosentino, with whom he travelled the world. He is survived by Dee; his daughter Patricia Santini, Patricia’s children Drew Santini and Spencer Helen Santini; his son Edward M. Hushon, daughter-in-law Giuliana, Ed Jr.’s children Edward S. Hushon and Georgie Celeste Hushon.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 19th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at 10am at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church, Nanuet followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
