Dennis Curry

Dennis Frances Curry passed away on March 29, 2015, at his home in Somerset, NJ. Dennis was born on September 17th, 1926, in NY, NY. He was one of 7 siblings born to Dennis and Frances Curry. Dennis enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 and served in the Philippines on a PT boat. Upon returning from the Philippines, Dennis married the love of his life Margaret Hartwick after a year-long courtship. They were married for 58 years until her passing in 2013. After marrying, they resided in New City, New York for 47 years, growing a strong attachment to their neighbors that would last a lifetime. While in New City, Dennis and Margaret had 4 boys, Dennis, Kevin, Timothy, and Raymond. Dennis seldom missed one of his sons’ sporting events- he was their biggest fan. Dennis was a partner and President of Carroll Musical Instrument Rentals in NYC from 1968- 1999. Later in life, Dennis would have the joy of helping to raise 10 grandchildren who adored him. Dennis was a devoted husband, loving father, and caring friend. He loved talking business and playing golf with his sons, neighbors, and the friends he made at Rockland Country Club. Dennis will be deeply missed as his love for his family and friends endeared him to everyone around him. He is survived by his 4 sons and their wives –Karin, Kathy and Donna and his 10 grandchildren.

Family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Services Inc., 321 S. Main St., New City, N.Y. 10956, (845) 634- 6110, mjhigginsnewcity.com. The Funeral Mass is on Thursday at 10:30 am at Saint Augustine’s. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery.
