

great uncle and friend to his extensive family. Andrea was born in the Bronx to Vilma and Andrea D’Andrea and moved to Rockland in 1958. He spent his formative years playing sports of all kinds from St. Paul’s CYO to Valley Cottage Indians to high school football at Don Bosco. He became a father in 1992 and devoted the remainder of his life to his son Joseph and their mutual endeavors. They could always be found together. He was also a vital member of the community being a small business owner, with various businesses. He opened Cornerstone in Congers in 1994 with his business partner Barbara Nodhturft.
He is survived by his wife Anne Hanigan D’Andrea, son Joseph Michael D’Andrea, sisters Denise
D’Andrea and Andria D’Andrea Brennan and more nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews than
can be counted. He is also survived by the numerous people he has touched who considered him a generous friend. He will be missed by all. He is predeceased by his parents Andrea and Vilma D’Andrea, his mother in law Margaret Hanigan and nephew Timothy Heim.
Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Sunday, March 24 from 2:00-
4:00. PM and 6:30-8:30 PM.
A Roman Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, March 25th at St Augustine’s in New City at 10:00 AM,
followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery in Congers.
