Vincenzo DiMauro, 74, of New Britain, passed away Wednesday in the comfort of his home after a brief illness. Vincenzo (Enzo) was born on November 22, 1941 in Troina, Italy to the late Luigi and Lucia (Birritta) DiMauro previously residing in Sortino, Italy. Enzo was a self employed mason, who retired in 1997. Enzo was a member of St. Ann’s Church as well as the Generale Ameglio Society and Circolo Pantalica of Sortino. He enjoyed amateur radio, hunting and spent most of his time with family and friends. Enzo will be most remembered for his humor, love of cooking, and his presence as the patriarch of the family.
Enzo is survived by his wife Rita (Valenti) DiMauro, three children; Gino DiMauro of New Britain, Sebby DiMauro and his wife Vicky of New Britain, Lucy DiMauro of Newington; his sisters Santina Trigilio of Newington, Concetta Astuto and her husband Gabriele of Italy; his grandchildren Brianna, Alexandra, Luke and Nicholas; his sister-in-law Nella DiMauro of Kensington and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Italy; as well as several remarkable nieces and nephews; a special and heartfelt thank you to his niece, Sylvia Lococo. He was predeceased by his parents Luigi and Lucia (Birritta) DiMauro, his brother Giuseppe DiMauro, and brother-in-law Michael V. Trigilio.
Funeral Services will be held Monday February 29, 2016 at 9 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 101 North St. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, in New Britain. Visitation hours will be Sunday February 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
