Sister Mary Christin Jachowdik

Sister Mary Christine (Ann Jachowdik) 85, a member of the

Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception died Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

A native of Patchogue, New York, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Blanche Jachowdik.

Sister entered the Daughters of Mary on August 15, 1946. Sister received her B.S. and M.A. from Seton Hall University.

Sister Mary Christine taught at Mary Immaculate Academy and Sacred Heart School locally, as well as, in our parish schools in New Jersey and Massachusetts. She served as Administrator of Rose Hill Day Care and as Secretary General for the Daughters of Mary.

Sister is survived by her sisters Rose Dioguardo, Frances Risley, Catherine Friedel, Gertrude Jachowdik and Dorothy Godzieba and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers George and Anthony Jachowdik and sisters Marie Sawicki and Helen Catton.

Wake services will be held on Thursday, December 19th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel at Marian Heights, 314 Osgood Avenue, New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Daughters of Mary 314 Osgood Ave., Suite #408, New Britain, CT 06053. New Britain Memorial/Sagarino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
