Robert James McGuigan

Robert James McGuigan, 58, of New Britain, CT died Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. Born October 1, 1963 in New Britain, CT, Bob was one of four boys born to Stephen and Jean (Gaffney) McGuigan. He was educated in New Britain schools, attended St. Thomas Aquinas and graduated from Pulaski High School. Bob retired from AT&T after many years of service. Bob enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and would make a yearly trip to Jupiter, FL for spring training. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially good friend Sandy and her dog, Gigi, who he loved dearly. Bob had a huge sense of humor, even in difficult times during his illness he found humor to lighten the mood. Bob kept life simple and lived on his own terms. His presence will be missed by his brothers and their spouses: Michael and Debra, Steve and Mary, and Brian. His nephews and nieces: Joe, Mike, Dylan, Tyler, Lexie, and Molly. He also leaves behind many cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Jean. A period of visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain from 9:00-11:00am with a Funeral Home Prayer Service commencing at 11:00am.
