Todd was born in New Britain to the late Paul and Elsie (Nadeau) Croft, and resided in New Britain for 57 years, moving to Wethersfield in 1997.Todd was employed as a firefighter by the City of New Britain, and later as a state Fire Marshall. After retiring, he joined the Elite Limousine Service where he earned national recognition as Chauffeur of the Year by the National Limousine Association. For many years, Todd worked for the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home.
He proudly served in the U.S. National Guard and was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Church in New Britain and the Church of the Incarnation in Wethersfield.
He was a gentle and loving man who had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was passionate about his grandsons, fishing, driving, and clean cars. He enjoyed puzzles and being with friends, but his greatest pride and joy were his grandsons, Brian, Christopher, and Adam Lowe.
He was truly one of a kind and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah, and his devoted family, Paul Croft of Everett, MA; Diane and Peter Lowe of Newington; and Lori and Kenneth Richter of Newington.
He is also survived by Mary and Richard Rio of Florida and Peter Carlozzi of California, as well as many nieces and nephews, including, Mary Valenti of Florida; Carrie, Glenn, Emily, Meg, Sara, Jennifer, and Amy, as well as many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Antonio and Albert, and his sister, Bernadette Procko.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 9:00 am at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, CT (directions: Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, Funeral Home is 1 ½ miles on your right) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield, CT. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Mausoleum in New Britain.
Calling hours will be Monday, March 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
