Michael G. Markowski, 52, of New Britain passed away at home unexpectedly, on Saturday February 14, 2015. Born in Hartford, CT to Francis J. Markowski and Gertrude (Czaja) Markowski. He attended Sacred Heart School and E.C. Goodwin Tech, graduating in 1980 as an Electrician. He began his electrical career at Liberty Electric and moved on to Richmond Electric Company. He was currently employed with Professional Electrical Contractors (PEC) of Norwood, Mass. for the past 18 plus years.
Michael began his love of baseball when he started playing little league for the Fagan League Red Sox as a child and continued playing softball for Marty’s Café. He was a diehard Red Sox and New York Giants fan and rooted for his teams with a vengeance.
Michael was his daughters’ Daniella and Angela’s number one fan as he supported them throughout their sports and activities at NBHS, AAU Basketball and in college. He could be found “tailgating” just about anywhere. He enjoyed life, his family and friends. If ever you needed a laugh he was your “go to guy” and he always offered a helping hand. He had a charm like no other and could talk his way through anything.
Michael was the loving husband of his “Wendy’s girl,” Sarina (DiPietro) who he spent 35 wonderful, adventurous years with; he was the proud father of his daughters Daniella and Angela; loving brother to Francis (Mark) Markowski and wife Laura, and his sister Susan (Markowski) Babineau and her husband Stephen. Michael will be especially missed by his Uncle Bernie.
Michael will be missed as a fun and loving uncle by several nieces and nephews, and also by his in-laws and extended family. As master of many Holiday gatherings and summer barbeques attended by family and friends, he will be remembered for his quick wit, grilling skills, and love and laughter by all. He is predeceased by his parents Francis and Gertrude Markowski and several Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will begin Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10AM from New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 11AM at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
