14th 2024, joining her beloved husband of 62 years, Charlie, who preceded her in January
2021. Born on July 11th 1932 in St. Agatha, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Donat and
Yvonne (Ouelette) Chasse. Prior to retiring, Mary worked for many years at D&L Department
Store (later Weathervane).
Mary is survived by her four children, Michael and wife Donna Rozanski of Plainville,
Ronald and wife Stefanie Rozanski of Newington, Robert Rozanski and partner Melissa of
Berlin, and Kimberly Rozanski and partner John of New Britain. Besides her children, Mary is
survived by her brother Joseph “Sweet” Chasse of Waterbury, her grandchildren Kristen and
husband Kyle, Loren, Bryan, and Leah and her great-granddaughter Sophia. She was
predeceased by her siblings Rose Papageorge, Geraldie Ward, Dolores Jones, George Chasse,
Rene Chasse, Joseph Chasse, Camille Chasse, and Paul Chasse.
After moving to New Britain, Mary met Charlie and they were married at St. Andrews
Church. After Charlie's service in the Navy, where they briefly lived in Oakland, California, they
settled down in New Britain to raise their family. Charlie and Mary had a special marriage full of
lots of love and laughter. They enjoyed a long retirement together filled with cruises, vacations
to Hampton Beach, and trips to visit Charlie's friends from the Navy. Both Mary and Charlie
loved spending time with their loved ones and family. Their inseparable bond was a testament to
a love that inspired all who knew them, and will continue to resonate through the lives they
touched.
Mary and Charlie, united in life and now death, will be honored together in a shared
funeral service. Calling hours will be held from 9-10AM on Wednesday, June 19th at New Britain
Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by a Catholic Mass at St. Jerome Church 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain and burial at St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain. To send a condolence please see obituary at www.newbritainsagarino.com
