Mark was born on May 25th, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Mark Leo Lynch, Jr. and Mary Patricia Fitzgerald Lynch. He graduated from Boston College High School in 1966 and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. After college, Mark moved to pursue his career in Connecticut, where he raised his three children.
Mark had an impressive career in the Insurance field and rose to the position of Senior Vice President of Retirement Plan Strategies at Prudential in Hartford, CT. He helped create the Total Retirement Outsourcing product, helped shape the defined benefit sales force, and led the development of Retirement Plan Strategies. He was well-respected by his colleagues and had many close friends. He retired in 2010.
Mark was first and foremost a family man. He loved going on family trips to Lake George, boating, golfing, and attending Broadway shows. He was passionate about baseball and coached for over twenty years for the Bloomfield Youth League. Like any good Bostonian, he was a fiercely devoted Red Sox fan who never willingly missed a game. He had an incredible sense of humor and always knew how to make people smile with thoughtful gestures. He will be most remembered for all the joy he brought to the people he loved.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn Lynch, he is survived and will be dearly missed by:
His son Mark Leo Lynch IV and his wife Heather Lerch Lynch; his daughter Karen Jennifer Lynch Keefe and her husband Donald Keefe; his son Andrew Michael Lynch; his stepdaughter Julianne May Croes; his stepdaughter Jennifer Frances Croes; his grandchildren Evan Michael Lynch, Ryan Thomas Keefe, Cameron Joshua Lynch, Mark Daniel Keefe, and Katelyn Marie Lynch; his three sisters Patricia M. Lynch, Rita M. Lynch, and Dorothy M. Lynch; his mother-in-law Julianne Sullivan and his father-in-law Walter D. Sullivan, Jr.; his eleven beloved nieces and nephews and twenty-five grandnieces and nephews. Mark was also predeceased by his eldest sister Virginia M. Hagan.
