Maria G. Paluso

Maria G. (Bufalino) Paluso, 68 of Southington, died on Saturday July 22, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous ten-year battle against cancer. She was born on April 14, 1949 in the town of Canicattini Bagni, Sicily Italy and came to the United States in 1961. Maria was raised in New Britain, CT and graduated from New Britain High School. Her first career began as a dental assistant, and later she was employed at the Hartford Insurance Company for 20 years. Over the years, she was an active member and Head Trustee of the Canicattini Bagni Women’s Society in Hartford CT.

She is survived by her Middle School sweetheart, Thomas Paluso, to whom she was married to for 47 years. They raised a wonderful loving family in Southington CT. She was a loving mother and adored by her children, Marc Paluso and Lauralea Renehan, who is married to John Renehan. She cherished her grandchildren Jayden, Skylar and Leif. She is survived by her mother Maria Bufalino of New Britain, her sister Nella Fulco of Rocky Hill and her brother-n-law Mark Fulco, her brother Paul Bufalino of New Britain and nieces and nephews; Alex, Natalie, Vincenzo, Nicco, Lexi. She also leaves behind a sister-n-law and brother-n-law, Joanne and Roger Castonguay of Terryville. She is predeceased by her father Vincenzo Bufalino. Maria was generous with everyone she knew. She felt blessed to have so many loyal and loving friends. Her family would like to acknowledge with special gratitude all the loving care she received at Smilow Cancer Center and to The Masonicare Home Health & Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
