It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our loving mother, Lillian B. Peichert, 97 of New Britain who passed away on October 21, 2023 at the Hospital of Central CT where she received outstanding care. She found the strength to stay and let us celebrate her 97th birthday.
After the loss of her husband, our father, Albert Peichert in 1992, she continued to be the strong, loving mother who will be forever missed. She was a member of St. Jerome’s Church and was always involved in many activities there. She was a wonderful self-taught seamstress and baker who would be up most of the night sewing clothes and Halloween costumes for her four children. After raising her children she went to work at the New Britain High School cafeteria where she worked until she was 80. She loved preparing and presenting her creations.
Lillian is survived by her four children, Thomas Peichert of New Britain, Alison DeLuco, Sharon Peichert, and Alan Peichert of Southington; three grandchildren, Amy and her husband Brian DeRisi of Wallingford, Alan (AJ) Peichert of Rocky Hill, Andrew and his partner Bri O’Connor of Newington; sister, Nellie Fontana of New Britain as well as nieces and nephews who she loved and spent many good times with. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Adella Arzuolaitis and sister, Eleanor Kacmarcik.
Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain, will be private.
Some day we know the sadness will lift and we will think of her with a smile remembering her quick wit and all the good memories. We will always be thankful for all of the years we got to spend with her.
