Lawrence "Lonnie" Gagnon, 69, of Farmington passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, after an unrelenting and incredibly courageous battle with cancer. Born December 12, 1944 in Maryland, Lawrence was the only child of the late Larry and Lucy (Regina) Gagnon. Larry was pre-deceased by his wife Pamela (Ulen) Gagnon, and is survived by his only child and pride of his life, Brian Gagnon and his wife Allison of Dorchester, MA. In early life Larry grew up in Hartford's North End graduating from Weaver High School in 1963. An accomplished sportsman, during his youth, Larry played football and baseball and starred as a quarterback and a dominant pitcher. He attended Central Connecticut State University, graduating in 1968. Larry began the early 70's as an Industrial Arts teacher at Weaver High School. His love of architecture and design soon brought him into a career in real estate where he excelled and became a pioneer in the REO arena. Well admired and respected in his field, Larry had been a top producer for over 30 years. His winning combination of intelligence, focus, and tenacity earned him multiple awards, the most recent of which was publicly announced the day after his death. Throughout his career, and most recently at Coldwell Banker and previously at Prestige Property, Larry served as invaluable resource and mentor to many. A lifelong, dedicated Red Sox fan, Larry was unwavering in his loyalty and faith in his beloved team. Last fall, he accompanied his son to Fenway Park, where Larry watched him bat at home plate, a once in a lifetime moment for both. A man of insurmountable dedication to his family, Larry is remembered for his unwavering strength and support. A case of love at first sight, he met Pam in late 1971 and they were married just a few months later in a blizzard and shared their lives together for 41 years until her recent death in September 2013. A committed father, Larry is fondly remembered as never missing his son's soccer or hockey games. In addition to his family, Larry's dedication extended to his two beloved dogs, Colby and Casey. A true gentleman, Larry will be sadly missed. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adam St. Dorchester, MA.
