Joseph K. Szczepanski, 67, of New Britain died peacefully on Saturday, July 22, 2017 with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Poland and has lived in New Britain since 1966. He was the son of the late Jan and Janina (Brzezinski) Szczepanski . He was a member of Holy Cross Church and retired after a long career as a machinist. Joe was a hardworking man whose motto was; work hard because no one can take what you earn. Joseph loved working, playing cards, fishing, helping others and most of all, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Elizabeth (Kulaczkowska) Szczepanski and three sons and a daughter: Daniel Szczepanski and his wife, Anna; Tommy Szczepanski and Andy Szczepanski; Agnes Szczepanski and her fiancé, Tony Correnti. He leaves two precious grandchildren, Giovanni and Juliet. He is also survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers with their families, Sophie Fondrewicz; Urszula Smith and her husband, Arthur; Margaret Roy and Marty; Joseph and Urszula Szczepanski; John and Barbara Szczepanski; Roman Szczepanski and a sister in law, Janina Szczepanski and many nieces and nephews. Also, surviving are several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews in Poland.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 9:00 AM at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 25th from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, Exit 37 off I-84 take a right, 1 ½ miles on your right.
