Joseph D. Severino, 79, beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Failla) Severino since 1968, of Berlin, CT passed away on February 27, 2023 at Autumn Lake Healthcare after a long illness with family by his side. Joseph was born on April 19, 1943 in New Britain, CT to parents Dominick and Maria Severino, previously residing in New Britain, CT before settling in Berlin, CT. He graduated from New Britain High School. Mr. Severino was employed by Bowers Health Care Facilities retiring in 2013. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the US Army. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church as well as active in local softball leagues as an umpire.
A lifelong resident of Berlin, he married Patricia and they made their home in Berlin. Joseph was a devoted husband and father who cherished time spent with family. In addition to raising their children, Joseph maintained his career as an accountant. He enjoyed playing softball and later umpiring the games and spent most of his time watching sports, attending Celtics basketball games and high school football games.
Joseph is survived by and will be dearly missed by: his son Joseph Severino and his wife Jennifer of Tampa, FL; daughter Karen Severino of Avon, CT; and sister Victoria Severino of Cromwell, CT. Special nieces and nephews: Linda and Karl Faust of Berlin, CT and Rose Hyde of Rocky Hill, CT.
In addition to his beloved wife Patricia and parents Dominick and Maria, Joseph is predeceased by his sister Nancy Carbonell.

Friends and family are invited to call upon the Severino family on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 4:00-7:00pm at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, Cottage Street, East Berlin, CT at 10:00am with a brief gathering prior to church from 9:00-9:30 at the funeral home. Committal services will follow at Maple Cemetery, 1164 Worthington Ridge, Berlin, CT.
