Jean Frances Mike

Jean Frances (Laurie) Mike, age 79, widow since 2005 of Eustace Mike of Plainville, CT. Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday January 6, 2019 in New Britain with family close by her side. Jean was born June 4, 1939 in New Britain to the late Howard and Lillian (Bengston) Laurie of CT. Previously residing in East Hartford, before settling in Plainville, where she lovingly raised her family of three boys along with her former husband John Yawgel, she was employed for many years by The Travelers in Hartford. A kind and gentle soul, she had a loving nature with a great sense of humor. She loved boating on the sound, exploring and taking many memorable trips with her husband Eustace. She cherished the time spent with her two sisters Lillian and Gert and their collective families, was very devoted to her family, loved her three boys and was a great fan of UConn women’s basketball. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her three sons, Michael Yawgel of Cromwell, Stephen Yawgel of East Hartford and Jeffrey Yawgel of Florida, her sisters Lillian Landrie of New Britain and Gertrude Satalino of East Hartford. She also survived by her six grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews that were all very dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her brother Bill “Buddy” Laurie and her former husband John Yawgel, who she, along with her sister Lillian, took great care of during his illness and passing. Rest in peace Mom, we love you and you will be missed. A Memorial Gathering will begin at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain on January 19, 2019 from 10am till 11:30am. A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain.
