Jan Maciorowski, 82, widower of Anna (Kania) Maciorowska, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Poland, son to the late Jan and Marianna (Markowska) Maciorowski. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1974, along with his family, and settled in New Britain. He was a very hard worker, always trying to provide the best he could.
He is survived and will be missed by his children: Lucy and Kazimierz Piechowski, whom he made his home with, Krzysztof and Maria Maciorowski and Stanislaw and Wieslawa Maciorowski, his precious grandchildren: Alexis (Alusia) and Krysia Piechowski, Monika and Daniel Maciorowski, Paul, Michael and Tomek Maciorowski. He is also survived by his two sisters; Teresa and Piotr Chmielewski and Irena Zwolinska, and several nieces and nephews, here in the states and in Poland. He was also predeceased by a brother in law: Jan Zwolinski. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caretakers (Maria's), for the compassionate care provided, and his physician, Dr. Alicja Harbut and her staff for always being there.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5-8pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Funeral services will begin Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home, followed by his funeral liturgy at 11:00 am Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
