It is with great sadness that the family of Helena (Jurczyszak) Ostrowski announces that she died peacefully on Sunday December 4, 2016. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Stefan Ostrowski, parents, brothers and sisters. She has lived in New Britain for over 43 years.
Helena was a member of St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, she was also a member of the church choir, when able she actively volunteered at the church baking bread and making perogies, but her greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She retired from Macristy Industries with pride after 15 years of service. In addition she had previously worked at New Britain Machine.
She is survived by her loving children, two sons and two daughters, son Andrew Ostrowski and his wife Michelle of Foster City, CA, son Peter Ostrowski of McAllen, TX, daughter Mary Kebalo and her husband Andy of Grimsby, Ontario, and daughter Stephanie Ostrowski and her husband Dave Bisi of Glastonbury. She is also survived by beloved grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Christine and Andrew Kebalo, Stephan and Nicole Ostrowski, Arianna and Joseph Ostrowski, Ryan and Jordyn Bisi. She leaves her brother Roman Jurczyszak and his children, Bob, Walter, Donna and Mary; and many dear friends at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian church, and reverence to Rev. Stefan Bereza.
With much gratitude, the family extends a sincere thank you to her kind dear friends at Touchpoints of Farmington for the wonderful care and support that you gave our dear mother in the final years of her life.
Funeral services will be on Saturday December 10th at 10:30AM at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. A visiting hour at the funeral home, will precede the service from 9:30AM-10:30AM. (Directions, Exit 37 off I-84, take a right at the exit, 1 and a half miles on your right).
