He was born in New Britain attended local schools and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Frank retired from Stanley Works after 41 years of service and also worked at Lehrer’s Hardware Store. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington, American Legion and the Moose Lodge. In his younger years he was an avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing, baseball, softball and ice skating. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Irma his son, Robert Czewinski and his wife, Wendy of Kensington; a son Edward Kurpiewski, a daughter in law Joanne Czerwinski and a brother Lucian Czerwinski and his wife, Florence of Kensington. He leaves his beloved grandchildren, who where his pride and joy, Heather, Melanie and Todd, and a precious great granddaughter, Isabelle and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and remembered by his Wetherell Group Home family. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Czerwinski, three brothers and a sister, Stephen, Edward, Hank and Jean Manochi.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 28 2011 at 9:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial &Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain (directions: I-84, right off #37, 1 ½ miles on right) followed by a funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at the church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 27th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
