Francis Richard (the 33rd) DiPietro, 86, of New Britain, entered into God’s care on Dec. 25, 2012, Christmas morning, after a long illness. Francis “Chich” was born in New Britain and was son to the late Luigi and Sebastiana (Tabacca) DiPietro and was a lifetime resident. He was a retiree of CNG after 30 years of service and member of St. Ann Church. He was a proud veteran of WWII and Korea having served in the US Army. Chich was an avid golfer, gardener and horse racing enthusiast and will be remembered for his sense of humor.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews: Betty-Anne Lewis and husband Edward of Kensington, Jo-Anne Chase and husband Steven of Simsbury, Paul DiPietro and wife Eleanor of Southington, Ann Louise DiPietro of Newington and Michael, William and Susan Slade; his sisters-in-law: Elisabeth DiPietro of New Britain and Louise DiPietro of Newington, his five grandnieces and nephews, David, Meagan, Andrew , Adam and Meredith. He was also predeceased by two brothers; Chester and Joseph.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at 8:00am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 9:00am in St. Ann Church. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation hours will be TODAY, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. His family would like to thank his caregivers; Kat and Beata for their compassionate and loving care.
