Frances J. Butler, 92, of New Britain passed away peacefully at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Daughter to Polish immigrants, Jozef and Rozalia (Romanowski) Jurczyk, Frances was born in New Britain and lived in Poland for a short time before returning to New Britain with her parents. She attended Sacred Heart School and high school at MIA graduating in 1949.
Frances met and married Robert Butler in 1953 in New Britain and were married at Sacred Heart Church. Frances and Robert settled in New Britain to raise their children, Daniel and Thomas.
Throughout their life together, both Frances and Robert stayed very active in the Sacred Heart Church community.
Frances worked for the State of Connecticut, Teacher's Retirement Board for 43 years and retired in the early 1990's. She was very passionate about her work advising teachers of their benefits.
In addition to her parents, Jozef and Rozalia, Frances joins in heaven her husband Robert, son Thomas, grandchildren Seamus and Robert, siblings Rose and Stanley, and longtime friend, Angela Stanczyk whose family was an extension of her own.
Frances is survived by and will be deeply missed by her son, Daniel, nieces Debbie Packard and husband, Ira, and Signe Rogalski, and nephew Dennis, as well as her loving niece Terry Steele.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, Broad Street, New Britain at 11:00am. Friends and family are invited to call upon Frances' family prior to mass from 9:00-10:30 at New Britain Memorial & Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain. Committal services will be held immediately following mass at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burritt Street, New Britain.
