Elvira L. (Giannini) Grant, 90, beloved wife of Robert Grant since 1994, of Waterbury and formerly of Melborne, FL, passed away on December 31, 2010 at the Paradigm Health Center. Elvira was born Feb. 23, 1920 in Waterbury to the late John and Rose (Merusi) Giannini. She had been employed by Winchester Electronics before retiring in 1985 and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Waterbury. Elvira enjoyed dancing, singing, embroidery, sewing, puzzles and spent most of her time with family. She will be most remembered for her devotion to her family and her sense of humor. In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived and will be dearly missed by her son: Edward Pinnette and his wife Rosalie of Torrington, her two daughters: Theresa McLaug hlin and her husband Thomas of Oak Harbor, OH and Evelyn Lush of Waterbury. She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Rivers of Melbourne, FL, nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Elvira was also predeceased in death by her previous husband, Lawrence Pinnette, her identical twin sister, Louise Fonseca, a brother, Mario Giannini, her grandson, Kevin Lush and beloved pet, Rosco.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2010 from 4-7 pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elvira and her sister, Louise Fonseca will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 S. Main Street, Waterbury, followed by the twin's burial in Calvary Cemetery, 2324 E. Main Street, Waterbury.
