Eddie J. Conaway 83 of 214-A Glen Street, New Britain, CT. Husband of Gladys J. Conaway passed Sunday morning 4/8/2018. Born in Glenwood, Georgia, the son of the late Poncil Sr. and Hannah Mae Conaway. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses attending the Berlin Congregation. Eddie started his employment here in CT at Stanley works and retired from there after 25 years of service. He also worked at a magazine distributors company in Plainville, CT. It should be noted that Eddie had various small businesses during his life, these included a small eat in diner in his hometown of Ailey GA, a fish market here in New Britain, as well as a multi faceted domestic service spanning work all over CT. In addition to this, Eddie was a seriously avid traveler visiting nearly every state in the country. Lastly, Eddie as a young man exhibited his athletic prowess by being scouted by the major league Dodgers as a pitcher. He is survived by four sons Ponce D. Conaway, Eddie J. Conaway Jr, Dannie A. Conaway, Joey J. Conaway and four daughters Melvadine Rodgers, Regina Moore, Cynthia A. Estrado, and Yvette M. Foster. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers Poncil Conaway Jr., and Willie C. McCloud and one sister Macey Carter, 15 Grandchildren and a host of Great Grandchildren/Great Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by 3 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
