Donald Holder

Donald “Don” F. Holder, 80, long-time resident of New Britain passed away on January 5th, 2022. Originally from Berlin, MA, Don joined his beloved wife Judy in Heaven. Don was born to David and Barbara Holder on September 11, 1941. Don was married to Judith A. Holder for almost 40 years. Don and Judy were truly soulmates, doing everything together including making crafts and quilts for all their close friends and family. Don graduated with his Masters in Industrial Technology from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain and was a long time employee at Pratt & Whitney as a tool and diemaker. Don loved all the friends he made while enjoying his activities of his shooting sports, Nascar, and cheering on the Hartford Whalers and the New England Patriots. Most of all Don loved his grandchildren; even moving to Hamden four years ago to live next door to them. Don was a frequent visitor for family meals prepared by his daughter-in-law. Don was survived by his devoted son, Edward and his wife Susan Holder, his four cherished grandchildren, Emily, David, Jilliian, and Charlene Holder; his sister Jennifer Gallagher, and Brian Gallagher along with his Nephew John Paul Gallagher and his wife Melynda Gallagher and his niece Christiana Gallagher. Don was predeceased by his wife Judith Holder.

Friends and family can attend a graveside ceremony at South Berlin Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Berlin, MA on Thursday January 13th at 12pm . In addition, calling hours will be held at New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT on January 12th from 4-7pm.
