Claire Follacchio, 85, widow of Guido Follacchio, since 2007, of New Britain, passed away on February 25th, 2016 at Southington Care after a long illness. Claire was born March 28, 1930 in New Britain to Anthony and Victoria (Jeske) Lugli. Claire was employed at Stanley Works, retiring in 1989. She was a parishioner of St. Jerome Church. Along with Dolores and Gerry Kane, the Follacchio’s owned and operated Del-Aire Campground where they spent many happy years. Claire’s pride and joy were her two grandchildren, which she helped raise and spent many precious hours with.
Survived by one daughter, Audrey Theriault of New Britain, grandchildren, Eric Theriault and his fiancé Tania O’Brien, Kristin Holtman and her husband Michael Holtman, great grandchild, Madison Holtman, niece Ann Follacchio and a special friend Dolores Kane. Predeceased by a great friend, Gerry Kane.
Funeral services will begin Tuesday 10am, at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by her funeral liturgy at 11 am at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation hours will be Monday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
