Catherine Ida Bianco

Catherine (Flanagan) Bianco, 90, widow of Salvatore Bianco since 1974, and formerly of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at the Eagle Pond Rehabilitation & Living Center in South Dennis, MA. Catherine was born in Thomaston to the late John J. and Grace (Thompson) Flanagan and has been staying with family in Cape Cod since September. She was a former parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church and had also enjoyed traveling while tour coordinator at the New Britain Senior Center during the late ‘70’s.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her three children; Patricia Mucha and her husband Joseph of So. Yarmouth, MA, Robert Bianco of South Dennis, MA, and Richard Bianco and his wife Mary of Centerville, MA, her sister Margaret (Flipiak) Linnell of Bristol, CT, fourteen dear grandchildren: Corinne Kidwell and her husband Kevin of New Palestine, IN, Kathleen Redford and her husband Michael of Greenwood, IN, Christine Johnson and her husband John of Burlington, CT, Michael Bianco Jr. and his wife Anne of Tampa, FL, Darlene Shea and her husband Paul Shea Jr. of E.Dennis, MA, John Bianco and his wife Diane of N.Harwich, MA, Keith Mucha and his wife Chrissy of So.Yarmouth, MA, Maureen Munroe and her husband David of W. Yarmouth, MA, Brian Mucha and his wife Linda of E. Dennis, MA, Jennifer Jo Bassett and her husband Jeffrey of W. Yarmouth, MA, Nikia Bianco of SC, Evan Bianco of So. Dennis, MA, James Bianco of Centerville, MA and Paul Bianco of Centerville, MA, her 18 precious great grandchildren: Mitchell, Joshua, Hannah and Michaela Bianco of Tampa, FL, Leah Bianco,Stephen and Sarah Shea of E. Dennis,MA, Ryan Shea and Caitlin (Brigham) Shea of W. Yarmouth,MA, Michelle Brigham and Michael Brigham of W.Yarmouth, MA, Benjamin and Anna Bianco of N.Hanwich, MA, Matthew Kidwell and Kara Kidwell of New Palestine, IN, Heather Kidwell and Eric Redford, both of Greenwood, IN, Kyle and Andrew Johnson of Burlington, CT and Adam and Dylan Bassett of W. Yarmouth and one sweet great great grandson Michael Shea of W. Yarmouth, MA. She is also survived by her daughters in law: Barbara Bianco of East Dennis, MA, Rachel Kozlowski of Cheshire,CT and Debra Kavanagh of Hyannis, MA and many nieces and nephews. Catherine was also predeceased by her children: Michael Bianco Sr. of E. Dennis, MA who passed in 2004, Thomas Bianco of Piper, KS, who passed in2008, an infant son Donald Bianco who passed at birth in 1949 in New Britain and two brothers, Richard ‘George’ Flanagan and John Flanagan.

Funeral services will begin Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 9:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, all in New Britain. Visitation hours will be held Friday, 3-6pm at the funeral home.
