He was born in Italy and was the son of the late Antonio and Giuseppina Salvatore. He proudly served in the Italian Military. Armando immigrated to the USA in 1962 and has lived in New Britain and Plantsville.
He was a member of St. Ann Church in New Britain and retired from Fafnir Bearing Co. and also worked many years as a Driving Instructor for Santo's Driving School.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, he had a great love for soccer, and it also brought him great joy to play Bocci and cards with his friends as a member of the Italian Independent Political Club in Berlin. But most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Francesca (Fabale) Salvatore and three beloved daughters with their families, Marisa Fiora and her husband Mark, Marie Grabowski and her husband Gene, and Lucy Bernatchy.
He leaves seven beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Alexis, Matthew, Alycia, Gabrielle and Evan, and one great grandson, Noah, who were his pride and joy ----
He is also survived by a brother and two sisters in Italy and predeceased by a brother Flavio Salvatore.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain. Directions: exit 37 off I-84 East or West – right off exit -- 1 ½ miles on right. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 11th at 9:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Church, 101 North St. New Britain. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
