Antonio DiPietro

Antonio DiPietro, 63, of New Britain, was accompanied by angels to heaven Sunday, January 22, 2012 with his devoted family by his side. He was born March 7, 1948 in Guardia Lombardia, Italy. He married, had his two children in Switzerland before moving to New Britain in 1977 where he resided for 35 years. He was employed by T.M. Industries in East Berlin, for almost 32 years before retiring in 2009. He was a loving, caring and very unselfish son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and great uncle.

He was predeceased by his father, Gaetano DiPietro and two brother in-laws Antonio and Marziale Turchi of Italy. He is survived by his mother Donata (Celetti) DiPietro, his loving wife Nicoletta (Turchi) DiPietro, two sons Gaetano Nino DiPietro and Hope Schilling and their children, Giuliano DiPietro and Brooke Thomas and their children. He also is survived by three brothers Domenico DiPietro and his wife Maria of New Britain, Gerardo DiPietro and his wife Assunta of Berlin, Angelo DiPietro and his wife Debbie of Farmington; his brother in-laws Americo and Carmine Turchi and his wife Maria, his sister in-law Angelina and her husband Luigi DiMatteo. He leaves behind by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Antonio was an active member of the Generale Ameglio Italian Club, and volunteered at the Hospital for Special Care both located in New Britain. He was an avid fisherman, card player, gardener and loved spending time with his family and friends at his cottages in Old Lyme. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends. We love you always, Tony and you will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will begin Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 9:15am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am in St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
