Alan Emmett Erickson, 72, of Bristol, passed away on May 19, 2021 at Bristol Hospital with his loving wife Maria, by his side. Alan was born in New Britain on August 23, 1948 to the late Burt and Eileen (Anderson) Erickson. He grew up in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School. Although an architectural finisher by trade, he retired after many years as Superintendent of Marwood Condos in Bristol. Alan carried himself with incredible kindness, patience, humor, and grace. Nothing made him happier than sipping a beer on “Zoo Night” with his family, making his “donations” to the casino in the early mornings, and travelling. Whether a trip to Vegas, cruising with friends, or his yearly jaunt to England (where he quickly became one of the locals at the nearby pub), he was always ready for his wife to pack his bags. Besides his wife Maria, Alan is survived by his daughters; Tina Dyson and her husband Bob of Bristol, Katrina Erickson and her husband Damion Baker of West Hartford, and Esther Erickson and her partner Diana Favilla of Bristol. Alan is also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, Casandra Dyson, Zachary Dyson, Julian Baker, and Zoe Baker. He also leaves his brother Keith Erickson and by his sister Lee Sirotnak and her husband John, and also by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alan will also be missed by his longtime friends, Harry and Pat Gannon and by his British friends, Pat Clark, Ellen Walsh, and their families. Alan was predeceased by his brothers Dean and Glenn. A gathering to celebrate Alan’s life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the New Britain Event Center, 430 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT 06053. The Event Center is located next door to the funeral home. Burial of his ashes will be private.
