With military accuracy he decided his career path on December 7, 1941 and wrapped it up on a military holiday December 7, 2012.
He was a man of integrity and honor who loved flying, fishing, golf, water sports, dove hunting, the Spurs and Cowboys.
Family oriented he was the world’s best stepfather. A gentle giant unless he was in a fighter aircraft then he was courageous and fierce
Tender, sentimental, and brimming with wisdom he had a personal input with everybody her ever met.
Daughter Pamela and son Ralph II, are deceased but he is survived by his wife of forty three years Margaret and step-children Sheryl McLaughlin, Kevin Wood, Paul McLaughlin, Linda and Mike Cappes. Granddaughters in Texas are, Krista, Misty, Shannon, Sarah and Courtney. Grandchildren in Florida are, Denise, Missy, Anna, Ralph IV, Caroline and their mother Linda.
What a man, what a life! He will surely be missed!
Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at “The Old Movie Theater” at Randolph AFB. Civilians are to enter the east gate and park at hanger 3; you will be bused to the auditorium for a 10:30 am viewing and 11:30 am service.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
