It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Sylvia Gonzalez of New Braunfels, TX at the age of 65. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Sylvia was incredibly generous, striving to make others happy through her cooking. If anyone wanted something special to eat, all it took was a phone call. Cookies and tamales were her signature and something she was proud to be known for…” The Tamale Lady” as some would call her. It was always a treat to receive a call from her. She loved talking with her family and friends.
Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael “Tinkerpapas” Gonzalez of 20 years, her son Joe Ortega and wife Crystal, daughter Veronica Smith and husband Kenny, daughter Michelle Ortega and wife Summer, as well as her nine grandchildren Joe, Isaac, Michael, Justin, Travis, Mallery, Leland, Calyn, and Juliesis. She also leaves behind her sister Yolanda Acosta and husband Cruz, sister Irene Gaylord and husband Arthur, brother Robert Teneyuque and wife Sandra and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her father Jesse Teneyuque and mother Anastacia Mendoza Teneyuque.
