Sue Miller

Sue was born in Springfield, Missouri to Charles and Zenith Newell on August 23, 1943. She grew up in Clinton, Missouri where she graduated from Clinton High School in 1961. Sue met her husband Paul Miller in Kansas City at a company picnic and three months later they married on September 18, 1965 and the two were married until Paul’s passing in 2013. They spent many years in Colorado where they raised their two kids, Brent and Wendy. In Colorado, Sue was a teacher’s aide and homemaker before moving to North Carolina and finally settling in New Braunfels, Texas.

Sue, better known as Granny, was easily talked into her family’s shenanigans and was always a good sport about all of their crazy ideas. She was the leader, organizer and glue for her entire family. She will be greatly missed.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband Paul Kenneth Miller, and parents Charles and Zenith Newell.

Sue is survived by her brother John Newell, son Brent Miller and daughter-in-law Joyce Miller, daughter Wendy Wales and son-in-law John Wales, granddaughters Michelle Otten and husband Nathan Otten, Jessica Miller, and Danielle Wales, and great grandchildren Aiden Rodriguez and Leah Otten.

The Funeral Service for Sue will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Gruene United Methodist Church. Burial will be Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 9:00 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
