Sherry Kay Mears Marsteller

Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday, March 20th from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130.

Funeral and church service will be held Friday, March 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Cranes Mill Baptist Church with Jerry Becknal, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Cranes Mill Cemetery.

Sherry was the second child born to William and Doris Mears on February 4th, 1944 in Lake Jackson, Texas. She grew up and went to school in Alvin, Texas and lived there until she finished college at Texas Women’s University. She accepted an officer commission in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Marines from 1966-1969 and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. Later she was employed as a Program Analyst for the United States Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia retiring in 2004.

Sherry married Ronald W. Marsteller on August 30, 1969 in Kailua, Hawaii. She is survived by their four children: Robin Nicole Marsteller, Garrett Wayne Marsteller, Danielle Denise Marsteller MacEachron, Craig Alan Marsteller, and her 6 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Doris Mears, and her brothers: Roger, Donald, and Troy Mears.

From an early age Sherry enjoyed music and singing, and sang in the Church Choir through out her life. She was a Reiki Master, avid reader, enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and antique shopping,

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, William Elvin Mears, and by Ronald W. Marsteller.
