He served in the United States Army as an officer and an aviator for 12 years. He flew in the 15th M. I. and also in the First Cavalry Division, the same division that his father served under prior to his retirement. He was a smart businessman and owner of a small franchise in New Braunfels, Texas. He encouraged others in their business endeavors and enjoyed his interaction with other small business owners in town.
