Mr Rudi Fernandes

He was born October 10th, 1929 to Abraham Daniel Fernandes & Betsy Robles in Dutch Guinea .

Rudi grew up in Paramaribo, Suriname where he met his beloved wife, Carmelita. They were married on March 25th, 1954.

Rudi was a mechanical & structural engineer. His work led his family to many places including Liberia, Holland, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Alaska. In 1979, they eventually settled in New Braunfels, TX. Rudi played a key role in the construction & maintenance of 3 area cement plants.

Rudi's passions included hunting, drawing, gardening, woodworking, motorcycles, and cars.

He was a remarkable and talented man, successful at everything he touched, and a true first-class gentleman.

Rudi was preceded in death by his son Renaldo (Ricky) Fernandes, his parents, Abraham Daniel & Betsy Fernandes, and one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Carmelita Fernandes; daughter Peggy Fernandes; sons Mickel Fernandes and wife Donna, and Jerry Fernandes and wife Melva; grandchildren Abby and husband Donald Cooper, Timothy and wife Dara Fernandes, Justin and wife Kareen Linthicum, Jeremy and wife Janielle Fernandes, Jackie and husband Andy Willome, Heather and husband Bryce Moore, KailaAnne Willman and husband, Justin and wife Kamarie Fernandes, Boomer Fernandes, Rikky Fernandes, Quinton Fernandes, Micah Fernandes; and great-grandchildren Daniel, D.J., Gabby, Camberley, Reese, Hudson, Charlotte, Penelope, Rubee, Sawyer, Devin, and Gus; and sister Greta Huiswoud of Suriname.

A funeral service will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home at 11am on Friday May 3rd, 2013.
