Ronald Gerard Meyer

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Ronald “Ron” Gerard Meyer, 59, on November 24, 2023 following a brief illness. Ron was born on November 17, 1964 in New Braunfels, TX to Bernice and Clarence Meyer. He is survived by his mother and father, son Brooks Meyer of New Braunfels, daughter Bailey Meyer of Bronte, granddaughter Cori Meyer of New Braunfels, sister Debbie Meyer Bell (Mike Evans), and many other extended family.

Ron graduated from Canyon High School where he was an active member of the FFA, in which his achievements included winning Grand Champion lamb at the Comal County Junior Livestock Show. Throughout his life Ron was a dedicated member of the Comal County Fair Association, serving as fair president and senior director. He would take vacation from work every September during fair week to serve long hours with fellow volunteers ensuring this long-standing county tradition continued to bring joy to residents of the community. Most of his working life was spent with the Comal Independent School District maintenance department. Ron was a lover of the outdoors who grew up frequenting his grandparents’ farm in Schulenberg, TX, and to this day enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing with family and friends. He also loved being a member of the Runnin’ Buddies BBQ team, helping his parents with the upkeep of their home and property, and spending time with the family pup, Zoey.

Visitation will be held for Ron on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, TX 78130, with a memorial service to follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A celebration of life will follow the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Braunfels Elks Lodge, 353 S Seguin Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic church or New Braunfels Elks lodge.
