Rodolfo “Rudy” Acevedo Sr. was born on January 20, 1933, in New Braunfels, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2024.
Rudy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Delia and Ralph Cervantes; his son and daughter-in-law, Rudy Jr. and Jill Acevedo; his grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Arguijo, Regina (Adrian) Patino, and Joshua, Evie, and Nora Acevedo; and great-grandsons, Dominic and Theodore. Rudy is also survived by his sisters, Rogelia Pruneda, Eloisa Acevedo, Teresa Martinez, and Elida (Albert) Jurado; and brothers, Robert Acevedo and Fidel (Mary) Acevedo; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Norberto and Francisca Acevedo; mother of his children, Mickie Acevedo; his brothers, Paul (Juanita) Maltos, Ramiro (Angelita) Acevedo; his sisters, Maria Luisa (Agapito) Cruz and Leonila (Richard) Valdez; and brothers-in-law, Juan Martinez and Ramiro Pruneda.
Rudy’s family is very grateful for the services provided to him by the staff at Sodalis Stone Oak where he lived and the staff at VITAS Healthcare for their hospice services.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm with a rosary recited at 6:30 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St., New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas. The burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Following the burial, there will be a reception at Saint Mary’s Hall at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
