but fierce battle. He will be dearly missed by his family and remain in our hearts forever.
Mike was born January 9, 1954, in Alice, Texas to Robert L. and Vernie (Livergood) Jarmon Jr. He was
preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Guy and Alma (Thormahlen) Livergood and Robert L.
and Pauline (Womack) Jarmon, Sr. and many other relatives. He grew up as a Baptist but later was
baptized into the Pentacostal church.
When younger, Mike often dabbled in oil painting, guitar playing, and stamp and coin collecting from
places around the world. He was an avid reader and was absorbed in history of any kind. He especially
delved into his own family’s ancestry. When living in Houston, he met and corresponded with a family
from Scotland – the McLean's, one of our ancestry names. Mike was also a talented writer and left us
with many stories and poems about his life.
Mike graduated from Comeaux High School in Lafayette, La.; graduated from Northeast Louisiana
University in Monroe, La. with a Bachelor of Science in Geography and earned with top honors a
Radiography Certificate from Midland College in Midland, Texas.
Mike was a complicated person but had a generous and caring heart. He often sent donations to the
Tupelo Children’s Mansion for disadvantaged and orphaned children in Tupelo, Mississippi. During
leisure time, he loved to feed the squirrels and birds from his patio balcony and often fed and sheltered
stray cats.
Mike is survived by his brother, James Randall Jarmon, and wife Dru, of Houston, Texas, brother Monty
Montgomery of Clarksville, Tennessee, sister Sherry Brown of San Antonio, Texas; niece Shelley (Patrick)
McCormick of San Antonio and nephews Ryan Fuqua of Kyle, Texas and Chris Betbeze of Lake Charles,
LA.; great niece and nephews, Brooklyn Fuqua, Liam McCormick, CJ, and Ray Betbeze.
