Robert was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army 82nd Air Borne division. Despite facing physical challenges due to injuries sustained during his service, Robert remained resilient and worked various jobs before retiring early.
Robert was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane K. Fields, and a loving father to their son, Lee. He was known for his kind and caring nature, and always went out of his way to help those in need. Robert was a passionate sports enthusiast, with a particular interest in baseball, football, and boxing. He coached baseball teams of all ages and was highly regarded for his ability to build self-confidence in his players.
In the early 90s, Robert became an ordained preacher and delivered sermons at churches throughout Texas for nearly a decade. In his later years, he enjoyed retirement but struggled with dementia for several years.
Robert is survived by his wife, Diane Kay Fields, his son Lee E. Fields, and other family members. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness and generosity will live on.
Visitation will be held Monday. November 4, 2024 from 10:00 am - 12 Noon at Zoeller Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Monday November 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Kyle City Cemetery.
