Rebecca Castro De La Cerda, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2021 at the age of 93. Rebecca was born on February 11, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to Emiliano Castro and Paulita Margain.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francisco De La Cerda, her sisters Maggie and Jesusa, her brothers Jose and Thomas, her grandson Samuel Martinez Jr. and her great-great-grandson Walter Calvin Herrera.
She is survived by her daughter Virginia Vicki Carrasco (Raymond), their children Michael, Sylvia, and George; her son Victor Martinez Jr., his children Richard, April, Victor III, Emilio, Jeremy, Jason, and Victoria; her daughter Nettie Sanchez (Apolinar), their children Johnny Joe, Stephanie, and Apolinar III; her son Samuel Martinez (Nancy), his children Yvonne, Yvette, and Alonzo; as well as countless great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many who were not family through blood but were family through love. Rebecca was greatly loved and will be missed by all that knew her, and we look forward to seeing her again at Heaven’s gate.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Zoeller Funeral Home. Eulogy to be read by Dena LaRoux at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The procession will depart Zoeller at 9:30 a.m. for funeral mass to be conducted on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
