Raymond is survived by his loving wife, who he cherished for 58 years, Glenda Roy; son, Stuart Roy and fiancé Alli Dahlgren of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Malea Breaux and husband Ryan Breaux of New Braunfels, Texas; son, Remie Roy and wife Gretchen Roy of Cumming, Georgia; and grandchildren, Caroline Bourg and fiancé Logan Canter, Davis Bourg, James Breaux, Wesley Breaux, Dylan Roy, Alex Roy, Marley Roy, and Savannah Rivers.
Raymond was inducted into the US Navy over 70 years ago. He was a medical corpsman assigned to the US Marines. His favorite duty was as coach for the US Marine boxing team.
Raymond was a pioneer in the health club industry. Many All American and professional athletes have benefited from his strength-training program.
In the 1960’s, his love of music led him into the music business where, under the trade name Crocked Foxx Productions, he became the manager of several bands, including the chart topping group, Eternity’s Children.
He could often be seen in New Orleans at the Fairgrounds, racing form in hand, cheering on the thoroughbreds he and his cronies owned. He finally accepted full retirement when he moved to New Braunfels, Texas four years ago, and no longer participated in enrolling people in Medicare Advantage plans.
Raymond was a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 31 years, and he has touched many through the practice of the principles of love and service.
He was a gentle man and a gentleman.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:30 am at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St. New Braunfels, Texas 78130. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice.
