Paul Joseph Haeck, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2024, at the age of 76, surrounded by those who loved him. A resident of New Braunfels, Texas, Paul’s life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and church.
Born on March 12, 1948, in Plymouth, Indiana, to Joseph Cyrial Haeck and Catherine Agnes Houin, Paul was one of seven children. He shared a close bond with his siblings: Carolyn Marie, Dennis Leon, Roger Francis, Neal Roy, Gerald Lee, and Dale Richard Haeck. Together, they shaped a family rooted in love and support, values Paul carried with him throughout his life.
On August 2nd, 1981, Paul married the love of his life, Victoria Lynn Allmann, and together they shared over four decades of love and devotion. As a loving and devout husband, Paul’s commitment to their marriage was a cornerstone of his life, always prioritizing their partnership with kindness, respect, and unwavering support. His dedication to their union was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Paul was the proud father of Adam Thomas Haeck, whom he guided with unwavering love and mentorship throughout his life. Paul was not only a father but a role model, teaching Adam the importance of dedication, honesty, and compassion. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Sebastian James and Alexander Miles Haeck, and his presence in their lives will be cherished forever.
Growing up, Paul worked hard on the family farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility from an early age. He balanced his duties on the farm with his education, determined to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional. Paul supported himself through school, working tirelessly to earn his way and turn those dreams into reality. His perseverance and dedication to bettering himself were qualities that defined his character.
Paul was a proud graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and he remained a loyal alumnus throughout his life. He later furthered his education with a Master of Business Administration from Butler University, exemplifying his lifelong commitment to learning and professional excellence.
Paul enjoyed a distinguished career in mechanical engineering, where he specialized in door hardware. His expertise and innovative thinking led to the development of several patents, earning him widespread respect within the industry. Known for his deep understanding and technical mastery, Paul was frequently sought after for his insights and guidance. His contributions not only advanced the field but also left a lasting impact on the industry and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Paul’s faith was a central part of his life. He was a devoted member of Cross Lutheran Church and School in New Braunfels, where he served as both president and treasurer of the congregation. His love for his church and fellow congregants was evident in everything he did, and he approached these roles with the same dedication and care he brought to all aspects of his life. Paul's unwavering commitment to his faith community will be remembered by all who worshipped alongside him.
One of Paul's greatest passions was golf. He was a member of Landa Legends Golf Association, and he absolutely loved the game and formed many lifelong friendships on the course. Paul was especially proud of the opportunity he had to play at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland, a highlight of his golfing journey. He continued to play golf until the very end, finding joy, camaraderie, and peace in every round.
In addition to golf, Paul had a deep passion for sports, particularly football, basketball, and IndyCar racing. A devout fan of Purdue University athletics, he followed Boilermaker football and basketball with great enthusiasm, always supporting his alma mater. His knowledge of the games, players, and stats was unmatched, and he was a walking encyclopedia when it came to Indiana sports teams. For decades, Paul faithfully attended the Indianapolis 500, a cherished family tradition, and he never missed a chance to cheer on Indiana teams. Whether it was attending games, watching from home, or discussing sports with friends, Paul's love for the game was infectious, and his deep understanding of the players and strategies made him a trusted voice in any sports conversation.
Above all, Paul will be remembered for his kindness, gentle nature, and unwavering character. He was a man of great integrity, always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear to those in need. His warm heart and quiet strength touched the lives of everyone he encountered. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross Lutheran Church and School Building Fund, honoring Paul's commitment to his faith and community.
A Public Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Cross Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. The burial service will be private.
