Patsy Eileen Salge, age 66, of New Braunfels, went to join her beloved husband in the home of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Northeast Methodist Hospital of San Antonio.
Patsy was born March 31, 1948, in Guadalupe County to Anton and Thelka (Vader) Lenz. She was baptized June 13, 1948 and confirmed March 26, 1961. She graduated from Marion High School. She married her love on June 26, 1966. Patsy and Francis had two children Brenda and Kevin. Patsy enjoyed being active with bicycling, aerobics, volleyball and swimming. She loved her family and enjoyed family barbeques, celebrating family milestones, and holiday parties. Patsy worked as a bookkeeper for Wick’s Lumber Company, Comal ISD, Conroy-Glastron Boats, and finally Ladshaw Explosive when complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis nearly took her life. She was a true miracle surviving twelve years and recuperating from a surgery which doctors didn’t give her but a small chance to survive. Francis, Dr. Davis and God didn’t give up on her. She always faced medical struggles with a smile and a positive attitude. No one could tell the physical trials she faced on a daily basis by looking at her smile. She touched so many lives of doctors, nurses, therapists, and was an inspiration to all showing them how far a positive attitude and faith will go.
Patsy was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years Francis Salge, sister Geraldine, brother Stanley Lenz, mother and father in law Hilmar and Leona Salge, brother in laws Adlai Salge, Orville Ormond, and sister in laws Verna Mae Salge, and Inez Guenther.
Survivors include daughter Brenda Martin and husband David of New Braunfels, son Kevin and wife Jennifer of New Braunfels, brothers in law Hilmar Salge Jr and wife Gloria, and Harlan Guenther, Sisters in law Evelyn Lenz and Betty Ormond, nephew James Lenz and wife Pamela of Seguin, numerous nieces and nephews and their children. Her pride and joy was her grandson Bly Martin of New Braunfels.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Zoeller Funeral Home chapel in New Braunfels. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park on Hwy. 46 South.
