Melissa Shantrice DeVeau, our angel, Melissa (Missy) passed unexpectedly, April 27, 2013, her family is in deepest sorrow. She was born, October 26, 1968, in Corpus Christi, Texas. An honors graduate of Calallan High School in 1986. She attended UT in San Antonio and graduated with honors: BS in Biology and Chemistry. Preceded in death was her father Charles, and grandparents, William and Nanny. She is survived by her mother, Patsy; sister, Dauna; brother, Will and his wife Jessica, and her beloved pug, Missy. Melissa developed a passion for flowers from her grandmother Nanny. From the age of 14, she worked in the Florist Shop in Corpus Christi. She received a Master Florist Certificate from FTD. The Highlight of her life was flowers, flowers, and more flowers. She began her career as a microchemist in San Antonio. Later she established and ran a lab for the Fisher Company in Selma. Her hobby was traveling with her mother across the world. Egypt, China, Tibet, Israel, and Easter Island were only a few countries that saw her beautiful smile. Sleep peacefully, sweet Melissa. There is no pain in this beautiful place heaven. The bright star of our life has gone to the Lord and will be deeply missed. Public visitation will begin 6:00 PM Thursday at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
