Marvin Uecker Jr. “Junior” went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the grand age of 87. Junior was born on December 23, 1930 in Blanco, Texas to Marvin Uecker Sr. and Edna Triesch. Junior was the eldest of three sons. The family resided in Bulverde, Texas. Junior spent his childhood working on the family farm and participating on the Bulverde Baseball League. It was during his elementary school years when he met the love of his life, Arlene Jonas. Junior graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1948 and joined the United States Airforce. While serving, he was deployed to Korea. Junior returned home and married Arlene Jonas on June 7, 1952. Together, the Uecker's owned Spring Branch Store from 1954-1966. During that time, Junior and Arlene welcomed two beautiful daughters, Charlotte and Roxane.
In 1966, Junior and Arlene opened their business, Spring Branch Repair, and served the community through 1999. Junior was an active member in his community of which he was very proud of. He organized the Spring Branch Volunteer Fire Department and served as the first Chief. Junior was a lifetime member of Anhalt, Spring Branch-Bulverde Bowling, VFW, Bulverde Community Center, and the Lions Club.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Edna Uecker; brother, Vernon Uecker; and nephew, Brad Uecker.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Arlene; daughters, Charlotte Acker and husband Glenn, Roxane Duelm and husband Rory; five grandchildren, Kristie Bernal (Joe), Celeste Lund (Justin), Bridger Acker (Crystal), Myles Duelm, and Saryn Duelm (Tanner); five great grandchildren, Abram, Adan, and Alex Bernal and Carson and Ava Lund; brother, Jerry Uecker; sister-in-law, Geraldine Uecker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Public Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bulverde at 2:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bulverde Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Junior’s honor, to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bulverde.
