Margaret Riebe Roberts Walker

Margaret Riebe Roberts Walker, 88, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at her residence in New Braunfels (The Blake). Margaret was born in San Antonio, TX to Thomas Debs (TD) Riebe and Minnie Riebe on February 16, 1936.

Upon graduation from Jefferson High School in San Antonio, she enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Master of Science in Pharmacy in 1958. She worked continuously after graduation at various retail and hospital pharmacies for over 40 years in San Antonio. Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels for over 55 years. She married Paul R. Roberts Jr. in 1955, while attending the University of Texas, for 47 years until he passed in 2003. In 2006 she married Billy C. Walker.

Margaret is preceded in death by parents (TD and Minnie Riebe), brother (Thomas Riebe) first husband (Paul R. Roberts Jr.), and second husband (Billy C. Walker).

Margaret is survived by her son (Paul R. Roberts III and wife Sandy), and daughter (Shari Streb and husband Joe). Grandchildren also survive her: Lauren Amundson and husband Eric, Jennifer Estrada and husband James, Michael Streb and wife Amanda, Paul R. Roberts IV, and Michelle Thornbury and husband Dillon. Margaret is also survived by her brother (Burton Riebe and wife Pat) and sister-in-law Bernice Riebe in addition to multiple nieces, nephews, and 8 great-granddaughters.

Margaret’s great joys were spending time with her grandchildren, gambling trips to Las Vegas, and traveling through Europe on multiple trips. She loved Texas hill country living on her parent’s ranch in Bergheim, TX and her own ranch near New Braunfels. Her proudest personal accomplishment was being among the first women in the pharmacist profession.

Private graveside family service will be held at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, TX on October 11, 2024, at 10:30 am. In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope Hospice New Braunfels, TX or First United Methodist Church New Braunfels.
